简　　介  

　　和大部分炊庭一样，杰瑞特一家人过着稳定而又安静的生活，卡尔文（唐纳德·萨瑟兰 Donald Sutherland）不可是一个工作上矜矜业业的正直律师，同时也将父亲和丈夫的脚色饰演得非常出色，和妻子贝丝（玛丽·泰勒·摩尔 Mary Tyler Moore 饰）成婚二十余载，两人的豪情份围稳定。
　　身为杰瑞特家的大儿子，伯克（Scott Doebler 饰）享用着更多的关心与爱，身为小儿子的康纳德（蒂莫西·赫顿 Timothy Hutton 饰）对此却并不在意。一次意围中，伯克溺水身亡，欣喜若狂的贝丝迁怒于那时和伯克在一路的康纳德，这让后者非常疾苦与自责，幸亏有卡尔文的陪伴和关心，他心里的创伤才渐渐治愈。但是，当他再次兴起勇气向母亲讨取暖和的时辰，贝丝的行为却让他的心再一次坠入了冰窖。
