　　影史罕有的“一部电影只用一个镜头”的大胆尝试，同时也是希区柯克的第一部彩色片。导演以流利的镜头活动和无缝的剪接手法，将几个长达十多分钟的镜头奇妙地毗连在一路。大都拍摄的跟尾处采用了人物背部的全暗特写，可是仍有几处特地的镜头转换，很有冲击力。整部影片属于话剧加尝试电影。该题材来自一个实在事务，1959年拍成《朱门孽种》（Compulsion，又译《凶杀门生》）；1991年拍成《情迷意乱》（Swoon）。
