　　影史典范默片，有史以来第一部怪兽科幻片，第一部带有定格动画的电影长片。
　　按照英国的阿瑟·柯南·道尔于1912年写下的科幻小说《失落的天下》改编。一群科学家在荒岛上发现了庞大的恐龙存活，费尽心机弄了一头到城市里，不意恐龙逃走，大闹一通。
　　片中“栩栩如生”的恐龙与人类演员同台共戏的场景令那时的观众和批评者蔚为大观。该片大量的利用了蒙太奇拍摄。非论是故工作节还是特技都很是出色，后来的《金刚》受这部影片的影响比力深的影响。
