　　影片报告了一个实在的故事，1982年6月黎巴嫩战争的第一天，四名年轻的以色列兵士单独驾驶一辆坦克，被要求配合一队空中兵士作战。该军队的第一个使命是进入黎巴嫩平民村落，断根那些看上去明显是巴束缚构造的可骇份子。批示官贾米里描写特派团的行动方法是要“敏捷简单”，但是随着兵士进入村落，看似简单的使命很快变得复杂，终极酿成了一场屠杀噩梦。在特派团出动那一刻起，他们和其他军队落空联系，四名流兵就被带到了一个灭亡圈套傍边。
　　《黎巴嫩》表示了紊乱复杂的中东战争，这部电影不成避免要触及到政治题目。但最重要的则是，导演希望经过电影描画四个二十出头年轻人的惊醒，他们忽然发现自己身处杀戮平民的残暴现实中，杀人成为他们必须做的工作。他们都不是豪杰，也没有人想成为豪杰。他们的保存本能和人性代价观在剧烈斗争，这是一出毛骨悚然的人世悲剧。
