　　茱迪从小在孤儿院里长大，年轻的她不能不负担起众多繁重的工作，而不能享用普通女孩子具有的家庭兴趣。有一天，她的命运被传奇般地改变了，一位自称约翰?史姑娘的理事由于她出色的作文而将她送进了大学，她起头了完全分歧的生活，她密切地叫这位理事“长腿叔叔”。在大学里，她欣喜地吸收着一切她从未有过的体验和常识，对她来说，一切都是那末新奇。她惧怕自己并不出色，对不起“长腿叔叔”的培育。她不停地给“长腿叔叔”写信，却从未收到他的只字片语，对她来说，他几近并不真的存在。
　　在大门生活中，她偶然熟悉了杰维少爷，他独到的看法和广博的常识吸引了她，而结业时，深爱着杰维的她却拒绝了他的求婚。就在这时，一向不曾碰面，甚至从未给她回过一封信的“长腿叔叔”约请她到纽约碰头，“长腿叔叔”居然就是杰维，茱迪大吃一惊，他们起头了浪漫的恋爱，不，正确地说，是他们继续着他们的浪漫恋爱。
