　　改编自名著《TEN AGAINST CAESAR》。南北战争后，美国除了成功却元气大伤的北军以及败北沮丧的南军外，就是一批匪贼军队横行乡里，而大家在战后瞻仰战争的心态只求自保无意协力荡寇。华伦亦持此心态，只待娶得巴洛即假寓加州经营农场不管世事，未料驿车遭匪贼史莱顿抢劫并绑架巴洛蜜斯而去。杰斯不满史之罪行反遭其害，被华伦所救，遂与华伦展开千里追踪。因人报酬己之故找不到民兵支持，到达墨西哥边境时杰斯遇难。华伦虽找回未婚妻，却觉为民除害大家有责，不因小我幸运在望而放弃缉凶，终究在边境苦战中将史莱顿消灭。本片拍摄的是处在一个动乱期间的实在反应，表示出处在阿谁期间的扭曲的人性，和那些迫切希望战争的人们那种心情。
