　　在蜿蜒流长的亚马逊河流域的雨林深处，生在世陈腐而奥秘的舒尔族。他们与世隔断，以食人蛇为叩拜图腾。围绕着舒尔族人的传闻和奥秘让雨淋之外的人们奋发不已。人类学家史蒂文?凯（埃瑞克?斯图尔茨 Eric Stoltz 饰）对舒尔人颇感爱好，他和记载片导演泰莉?劳瑞（杰妮佛?洛佩兹 Jennifer Lopez 饰）组成一个七人摄制组，前往雨林为这奥秘的部族拍摄记载片。路上，他们搭救了一个名叫保罗?沙龙（琼?沃纳 Jon Voight 饰）的男人，保罗自告奋勇带摄制组寻觅舒尔人，却不曾想这个汉子的真正目标竟是寻觅一条可骇的食人巨蟒。蒙在鼓里的史蒂文等人就次踏上一条布满血腥的不归路……
