年前的科学家塞斯（杰夫?高布伦 Jeff Goldblum 饰）刚刚发现一台能传送物体的“电动传送机”，这台机械能将物体分化，传送完成后再自动分解复原。兴奋不已的塞斯决订婚身材验一下电动传送，因而，他进入了传送仓。不幸的是，一只苍蝇这时也飞进了传送仓，因而，在机械将分化后的塞斯的份子再分解时，将苍蝇的份子也分解到了塞斯的体内。塞斯成了具有一半苍蝇基因的蝇人。
开初，塞斯的身材就像蜘蛛侠一样变得强健和精神兴旺，他的女友维罗尼卡（吉娜?戴维斯 Geena Davis 饰）底子不相信男友的鬼话。可是，随着塞斯的身材敏捷的渐渐老去，身材起头长毛，牙齿脱落，满身冒浆，维罗尼卡渐渐接管了这个究竟。她并没有抛弃男友，而是和他一路安静的接管了这个究竟，即使他变得血肉模糊，她还是和他一路相拥而眠。
