2 @+ b" X7 T: H　　故事发生在20世纪的法国南方，尤果林（丹尼尔·奥图 Daniel Auteuil 饰）和叔叔塞萨（伊夫·蒙当 Yves Montand 饰）觊觎令居老人家肥沃的地盘多时，终究设想将其害死。令两人没有想到的是，看似无亲无故的老人居然有一位名叫若望（杰拉尔·德帕迪约 Gér ard Depardieu 饰）的儿子，而若望的母亲不是他人，正是塞萨那已经将他抛弃的旧情人，对此，塞萨一向怀恨在心，平生未娶。
　　若望带着妻子艾美（Elisabeth Depardieu 饰）和女儿玛侬（Ernestine Mazurowna 饰）来到了乡下，善良的他完全没有留意到塞萨叔侄的恶意，过着无忧无虑的生活。塞萨将浇灌若望家六合的水源截断，若望的地步干涸、牲口渴死，焦虑中若望一病不起放手人寰，悲伤的艾美分开了这悲伤地，塞萨和尤果林终究如愿获得了地盘，但是，这两家人之间的纠葛却并没有就此竣事。
