◎简　　介

　　播州赤穗藩（在京都以西不远）的台甫（领主）浅野内匠头长矩，在他轮值江户城的招待官役的时辰，一次在驱逐天皇使节的仪式之前，在幕府中心驻地江户城内松之廊下，与一位老年权臣吉良上野义央发生抵触。其缘由至今未能究明。浅野在盛怒之下，拔刀伤了吉良。这就是严重违纪的“江户城刃伤事务”。                                       
                                    此事大怒了那时将军德川纲吉。他不容饶恕，号令浅野本日切腹、并罚浅野家从兹“隔离”。这就是说：赤穗藩的名号封地一概撤消、赤穗城向幕府开门缴城、台甫浅野家削为平民。作为藩士的三百余名赤穗军人，随之落空俸禄和职位，沦为“游勇”。                                       
                                    浅野欲辩无辞，时不他待，当日便吃紧剖腹自决了。                                       
                                    消息传到赤穗藩。                                       
                                    震动的赤穗藩士们，没法接管高耸的祸从天降。随着究竟的弄清，顺从的思绪构成了。这一思绪，是后日他们决意和行动的注解，也是四十七士事务后来脍炙生齿的缘由。
