　　女配角嘉比雅（奥黛丽·赫本 Audrey Hepburn 饰）投身修道院，进修教会的戒律酿成璐克修女。厥后被送到医学院进修当护士，结业后派到非洲的比属刚果办事。在那儿她熟悉了无神论的医生福图纳提，引发了她对宗教信仰的质疑。未几璐克抱病，病后被送回比利时，那时正值二次天下大战爆发，医院旁炮声隆隆，修女们却掉臂小我安危继续工作。比利时沦亡后，璐克加入了敌后工作，爱心使她没法连结修道者的沉默和便宜。当她听到父亲被杀戮的消息时，撤去了她修女的誓愿，请求出家退出了修道院。
