　　WCW（World Championship Wrestling 天下冠军摔角同盟），上世纪美国最为著名的摔角团体之一。建立于1988年，总部设在佐治亚州亚特兰大市。晚年曾是NWA旗下的加盟构造，1988年11月在Ted Turner的提倡下离开NWA，建立WCW，Ted Turner担任该同盟总裁直至2001年同盟开张。1995年，在一代革新者Eric Bischoff（艾瑞克?毕雪夫）的鞭策下，WCW从古典、传统的气概向贸易化、偶像化改变。在此时代，Eric Bischoff前后从合作对手WWF（天下摔角同盟，现今的WWE）手中挖来Ric Flair、Hulk Hogan、Kevin Nash、Scott Hall、Bret Hart等一干重量级明星，并培育出蝎子王Sting、Goldberg、Booker T等新一代的王者选手。Eric还最早提出周一向播的理念，每周一牢固的品牌节目Nitro吸引观众无数。随后这一理念被WWF总裁Vince McMahon借用，并由此激发了延续经年的周一大战。
　　
　　但是，占据先机的WCW却因经营不善以及理念落后逐步逊于WWF，在对手强大的攻势下，2001年WCW公布开张，以后连同另一家开张同盟ECW被WWF收买，建立了明天的WWE。风光一时的WCW就此云消雾散。
