　　一次意外中，王子爱侬（大卫·休里斯 David Thewlis 饰）的心脏遭到了致命危险，为了拯救王子的人命，一条龙献出了自己的半颗心脏。起死复生后的爱侬性情大变，凶暴又残暴，身为王子的剑术教员，伯温（丹尼斯·奎德 Dennis Quaid 饰）以为形成这一改变的罪魁罪魁是王子的那一半龙心，为了帮助王子找转意性，爱侬决议不惜一切价格，找到具有另一半心脏的龙。
　　一转眼十年曩昔，死在伯温手下的龙不成胜数，终极，他碰见了一向在寻觅的宿敌，一人一龙之间却发生了深厚的友谊。渐渐的，伯温发现，爱侬的残暴和龙心无关，系他的赋性，得知了这一真相的伯温同旅途中熟悉的卡拉（戴安· 梅尔 Dina Meyer 饰）一路，加入到了颠覆爱侬虐政的叛逆傍边去。
