很久很久之前，在美丽的童话王国，一切都依照典范的童话书循序渐进。童话王国承平安了，以致于平安部部长、主管王国恋爱故事美满终局的大巫师都闲得没事干，决议替自己放个假去好好玩玩高尔夫。临走之前，他放置了自己的两个助手曼伯和蒙克掌管平安事件，不幸的是，这两个小家伙有点缺心眼。
瞅准了这个倾覆王国的最好机遇，灰姑娘的恶毒继母弗丽达起了坏心机，为了破坏童话王国的一切善良百姓，出格是灰姑娘的幸运生活，她和大灰狼等恶魔组成了邪恶同盟，控制了童话天下，筹算完全更换王国的面孔。
不幸灰姑娘此次可被害惨了，原本就将和白马王子钟情一吻的她，却眨眼间落空了锦衣华服，浪漫恋爱不复存在。而王国里其他心爱的姑娘们，也由于弗丽达的拆台，姻缘纷缭乱了套。为了拯救童话王国，也为了拯救自己变得一塌糊涂的恋爱，艾拉只好带着七个小矮人、曼伯、蒙克和城堡的心爱洗碗工瑞克一路尽力奋起匹敌继母，重新回到“今后过着幸运欢畅的生活”的终局。
