　　被称作“赛道上的魔鬼”的赛车手阿伦·科比（罗纳德·刘易斯 Ronald Lewis 饰）在某次赛事相逢了美丽的丹妮丝（Diane Cilento 饰），二人堕入热恋，并顺遂走入婚姻殿堂。但在婚后未几，他们遭受一场严重的车祸，变乱一方的司机就地身亡，阿伦也蒙受严重的脑震动。出院后，阿伦和丹妮丝前往法国疗养，但那起车祸似乎让阿伦变得焦虑多疑，情感极不稳定。他们在当地相逢一位心理医师大卫·普拉德（Claude Dauphin 饰），普拉德称阿伦能够得了精神方面的疾病，这令丹妮丝担忧不已。
