　　1972年的德国，有一个胖乎乎的九岁小男孩叫汉斯彼得，在家人和爱好普遍的亲戚们的庇护下长大。乍看之下，他能够不像是个受接待的孩子，但他有逗人失笑的才能。天天，他在祖母的小铺子里不竭提升这类才能。但是，不幸很快发生了。他悲观的的母亲在一次手术以后日渐低沉。汉斯彼得的父亲也在拼命工作中情感低落，是以大部分时候都把汉斯彼得交给祖母和外祖母照顾。这两位老人都是本性豪迈而坚毅的女性。在祖母和外祖母的照顾下，汉斯彼得熬过了随之而来的情感波动，并用他的诙谐才华治愈自己心灵上的伤口，同时让身旁的人也畅怀大笑。
