　　妇科医生杰拉尔德·波依尔帮助一对望子二十年的佳耦实现了胡想--弗朗利夫人怀孕了。为了暗示感激，弗朗利约请波依尔佳耦抵家中做客。波依尔夫人贝弗利发现弗朗利师长正在看一则关于“欢畅香皂”的广告片，可是很不满足，贝弗利讲了她和孩子关于“欢畅香皂”的故事后，老弗朗利决议让贝弗利·波依尔来拍广告片--本来老弗朗利居然是代理“欢畅香皂”广告的老板。

D0 x5 a2 a) }+ ~7 e　　以为只是拍一个广告的家庭妇女贝弗利出乎料想地收到了做“欢畅香皂”形象代言人的合约，由于她在电视中亲热真诚的表示遭到了人们的接待。原本不赞成妻子进来工作的杰拉尔德在妻子的对峙下委曲赞成了，可是由于贝弗利的工作占据了大量的时候，夫妻二人聚少离多，杰拉尔德的情感颇受影响。在乞助了同医院的心理医生以后，杰拉尔德起头了一系列的解救行动：他伪装和秘书亲近并留下二人的合影让妻子看见，又伪装喝醉让妻子疼爱。当二人刚要重归于好时，杰拉尔德又开车驶进了摄制组为他们挖的泅水池里，二人的豪情再次冷却。在为贝弗利举行的晚宴上，弗朗利夫人感应自己就要生产了，贝弗利打电话给杰拉尔德，但弗朗利夫人的汽车因交通拥堵迟误在路途中，杰拉尔德赶到现场，和妻子在汽车里成功接生了一个7磅的女婴。看到弗朗利夫人的获得孩子的幸运脸色，重归于好的波依尔佳耦也决议给家中添丁。
