　　记录了从2002年~2004年时代，结合国维和部分在应对刚果共和国的内战危机的全部进程，起头部分以美国总统布什在结合国的一段演讲起头(是9/11以后，美国追求结合国支持的演讲)，“Will the UN address the purpose of its founding, or will it be irrelevant”(译：结合国事否会实现自己建立的初衷，还是置身事外呢？)，暗示了结合国的维和使命义务严重。
　　
　　刚果内战5年，各个武装派系为争取黄金和钻石等矿藏而争斗，屠杀村落里的妇女/儿童也习以为常。为了使刚果不成为第二个卢旺达，结合国维和机构的工作职员艰可贵工作着，为了压服各个成员国捐钱，出兵，UN工作职员不但需要承当极大的心理压力，同时也得冒着生命危险去刚果的栖流所获得第一手材料。而结合国的5大成员国行动缓慢，法国作为前宗主，有这说话以及丰富的治理经历和充足的军队以实现维和使命，但法国只愿意出兵3个月，保护自己好处相关的部分，三个月后撤军，结合国在此面临资金和职员空缺的为难场面，惟独乌拉圭派遣了一支小军队，但气力太弱小了，庇护UN在刚果的总部都朝不保夕。
　　
　　记载片给观众展现了结合国维和职员艰辛的工作，在2年时候内，刚果大势初见稳定，但仍然需要各成员国的积极介入。
　　
　　就如俚语说的，铁链的强度，是看它最弱的那一环。结合国维和的功效，也需要结合国各成员国配合尽力。
