　　音乐剧“变身怪医”重新诠释了英国小说家罗伯特·路易斯·史蒂文森(Robert Louis Stevenson)一八八六年出书的著名作品《化身博士》，报告了一位天赋弥漫的科学家哲基尔(Dr. Jekyll)本是位受人尊重的医生，但他发现了一种可以引发性情中罪行面的奇异药物；当他以自己为尝试工具喝下这类药物后，无意间割裂出了自己心里邪恶品德的化身——海德师长(Edward Hyde) 因而哲基尔医生酿成了一个双面人：白天是可敬的医生，早晨则是四周作恶的杀人犯；他整天盘桓在善恶之间，其心里的惭愧与犯罪的快感不竭抵触，令他饱受熬煎；而全部城市也覆盖着一种危险的氛围，并由此激发了诡秘的侦察故事……
　　“变身怪医”的编剧不但忠于原著，而且在善与恶的争斗中加入了浪漫恋爱的童话、欲念、愤慨和谋杀等新的元素，更在这个貌似荒诞无稽的故事中蕴藏了一个深入的大家命题：人，究竟是简简单单的黑白清楚、原封不动的非善即恶，还是既善亦恶，时善时恶?
　　本品收录了“变身怪医”于纽约百老汇普利茅斯剧院(Plymouth Theatre)表演的版本，由国际电视红星大卫·海斯霍夫(David Hasselhoff)领衔主演，同时饰演善良的哲基尔医生和恶名昭著的海德师长，淋漓刻画了人物心里爱憎交织、善恶交兵的冲突与挣扎。表演现场不单调配了数台高效能的摄影机结合拍摄，更动用了多达70只麦克风捕捉舞台音效与交响乐团的伴奏，力图引领观众体验设身处地的戏院感受。
