◎简　　介

　　何新（刘德华 饰）本生于买办之家，从小生活优裕，但是父亲一次投资失利致使家境中落，何新与母亲今后受尽白眼，而他也只要靠尽力进修来改变际遇，何新在校时代与同学程乐儿（王祖贤 饰）交好，可面临富家子情敌的搬弄他只要哑忍。1941年，日本入侵香港，何新与好友阿南（万梓良 饰）奔赴澳门，二人在码头做夫役被司理王昌（秦沛 饰）算计，但因成功击退混混保卫码头，他们进入外籍主管阿方索入住，其间何新对阿方索的私生女儿阿妹（邱淑贞 饰）一见钟情。何新出计谋打败了赌场的“听骰客”，又做成了私货买卖，得以在澳门赌场年老傅老喳门下出头，踏上赌城富翁之路……
